How to use the calculator

- Enter the fragrance percentage from your formula, expressed as a percentage of the base weight.
The results separate the finished weight into the base amount and the fragrance oil amount. This calculator determines weights; it does not select a fragrance usage rate.
Example: 110 grams at 10% fragrance
The result is 100 grams of base and 10 grams of fragrance oil, making 110 grams in total. Here, 10% is based on the 100-gram base—not on the 110-gram finished weight.

What does Finished Product Weight include?
It includes the base and fragrance oil together. Enter the weight of the product you want to make, without its container or packaging.
How is the fragrance percentage calculated?
Fragrance percentage is measured against the base weight before fragrance. Base weight equals finished product weight divided by (1 + fragrance percentage / 100). Fragrance oil weight is the base weight multiplied by fragrance percentage / 100.
Can I use this for products other than candles?
Yes, when your formula defines fragrance as a percentage of the base weight before fragrance. The same calculation can separate a finished batch into base and fragrance oil. Formulas that specify fragrance as a percentage of the finished total use a different basis.
Can I calculate in grams or ounces?
Yes. Choose grams or ounces for the finished product weight. The results show both units.
